Ingredients

  • Black Eyed Peas / Karamani / Lobia - 1 cup dried
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
  • Fennel Seeds / Saunf / Sombu - 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon / Pattai - 2 cm piece
  • Onions - 1 large chopped finely
  • Green Chillies - 2 pricked with a knife
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder / Malli Podi - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder / Jeera Podi - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Tomato Puree - ½ cup ( I used storebought)
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves - 3 tbsp finely chopped

How to Make

  1. Empty the packet in a bowl. Remove the oxygen absorbing sachet.
  2. Add 70-150 ml boiled water, adjust water based on the consistency you require.
  3. Stir it for a minute cover for 15-20 minutes and voila ready to eat.
